World News - Cambodian and Thai troops again exchanged fire in the border region early morning local time. This battle is the latest shootout after a few months ago involved a similar incident.
According to the Thai military spokesman Kolobnel Sunsern Kaewkumnerd, the fighting occurred on the border near Pa Nom Dong Rak district, Surin province.
"I do not know what triggered this new battle. A gun battle reportedly still continue to occur," said Colonel Kaewkumnerd told AFP on Friday (22/04/2011).
Long dispute between the two countries was re-heated after the military two neighbors engaged in combat in February. The fighting that occurred during these four days left 10 people dead.
The United Nations also urged both countries to a truce. New battle is certainly complicate the peace process between Thailand and Cambodia.
Indonesia, which serves as the Chairman of ASEAN this year, trying hard to encourage both countries to create peace. Last month, representatives of both countries came to the presidential palace in Bogor to conduct negotiations to resolve this problem.
